Hyderabad, April.14 (NSS): Inter Caste Marriage is the way forward to end caste discrimination and build caste free India observed many speakers who spoke at the flagging off function of 7th Run for Caste Free India organized Saturday morning at the People’s Plaza in Necklace Road.
The Run was jointly organized by Prabuddha Bharat International (PBI) and Dalit Indian Chamber of Commerce and Industry (DICCI) to mark the 127th birth anniversary of greatest philosopher and Architect of Modern India Babasaheb Dr. B.R.Ambedkar.
Ghanta Chakrapani of TSPSC and Dr. Jayaprakash Narayan, Founder of Loksatta, flagged off the Run and participated in the same. The Run which was kicked off at People’s Plaza concluded at Ambedkar Statue on the Tankbund.
A Casteless Marriage Bureau was launched by Samasamajam, a global network for Casteless India. People behind Casteless Marriage Bureau are Dr. Ramadevi and Dr. Omprakash Sama also graced the occasion.
Speaking on occasion Dr Om Prakash Sama shared details of the survey of CCMB. The gist of the survey was marrying with the same ethnicity, community and caste are prone to genetic diseases. The study analyzed samples from more than 2800 individuals from 275 distinct South Asian groups. The 1.5 billion people of South Asia were more vulnerable to rare genetic population specific diseases than elsewhere in the world because of the endogamous marriages or marrying with the same ethnicity, community, and caste, etc. He said the study was led by co-senior authors Kumarasamy Thangaraj of CSIR, Centre for Molecular Biology(CCMB) and David Reich of Broad Institute MIT & Harvard, Cambridge, USA, in collaboration with other institutions. It has identified that about a third of populations here have had such strong defective genes passed on through generations. They have analyzed samples of more than 2800 individuals from over 275 distinct South Asian populations belonging to various social and linguistic groups from India, Pakistan, Nepal, Sri Lanka and Bangladesh using about 600,000 genome-wide markers.
Caste is an inhuman face of Indian Society observed Dr. Jayaprakash Narayan. Speaking further he added that Modern humans originated in Africa sometime around 200,000 years ago. Traces of earliest human beings found in excavations at Jwalapuram in Kurnool District of Andhra Pradesh. Which means we have a history of 74000 years. So our ancestors have common roots. All our ancestors are one. So why this differentiation of caste now he said.
As earlier speakers said if we practice inter-caste marriage, the caste system will end in next one to two generations, Dr. Jayaprakasha Narayan observed.
Speaking on occasion, Ghanta Chakrapani said certain things we don’t talk openly in public. The future generations must strive hard to build casteless India, he said.
Padmasri Narra Ravi Kumar, Founder of Prabuddha Bharat International, is an organization that pursues the vision of Babasaheb Ambedkar until it is realized said no one puts an application to god to give birth in a particular caste or religions. Caste is dangerous than Corruption, Pollution, and AIDS, he observed.
