A day after making vituperative and downright abominable comments on former chief priest of the Tirumala temple Ramana Deekshitulu, AP Minister Somireddy Chandramohan Reddy was a mellowed man now. He unconditionally withdrew his comments.

At Mahanadu, he said Ramana Deekshitulu will see reason if he is thrown into a jail and is soundly thrashed. This insolent comment on the former chief priest has invited ire and derision from all quarters and Telugus worldwide have slammed the TDP and the minister.

Unnerved by this negative reaction, the TDP is now on a back foot. Somireddy has announced that he was withdrawing the comments. However, he said that Ramana Deekshitulu was acting under the guidance and direction of the BJP and said that the YSRCP comments that Tirupati jewels and ornaments were in Chandrababu Naidu’s house were wrong.
