2 brothers among 3 killed in firing between groups in UP


Shahjahanpur: There people were killed and one severely injured in firing when two groups clashed in Shahjahanpur, Uttar Pradesh.

The clash took place near Kallu Miyan Dargah in Awas Vikas Colony of the city. It reportedly took place because of an old rivalry.

Speaking about the matter, police said there were several rounds of firing from both the sides. Among the three killed, two were brothers-Imran and Insrar. They died on the spot while another youth Musheer succumbed to injuries while being taken to a local hospital.

The injured youth has been identified as Rahul, alias Sonu. He was referred to Lucknow for treatment after his condition deteriorated.

Superintendent of Police (SP) S Chenappa said, “The bodies have been sent for post-mortem and an FIR has been registered. We are investigating the incident.”

He said as a precautionary measure, police have been deployed in the area where the clash took place.
