Guard hangs self at school in North West Delhi

New Delhi: A 32-year-old security guard at a school in Swaroop Nagar in northwest Delhi allegedly committed suicide inside the school complex on Sunday moninng. He had been missing from his house since the past three days. DCP Aslam Khan said that the victim has been identified as Phool Singh. Inquest proceedings have been initiated under Section 174 of CrPC.

The incident came to the fore when some people saw a body hanging by a tree at the government school. On closer scrutiny, the victim was identified as the school’s security guard. He was taken to a nearby hospital where doctors declared him brought dead. The body has been preserved in the mortuaty of autopsy.

Singh’s family members told police that he had left his house in Alipur village three days ago and hadn’t been responding to calls on his mobile phone. Subsequently, a missing complaint was lodged and police started a search for him.

Plice have ruled out foul play in the incident. CCTV footage is being analysed to ascertain the sequence of events and the time when Singh entered the school complex.

It is also being probed if anyone else had entered the complex during this time.
Cops are talking to Singh’s family members to find out the reason for his alleged suicide.
