New Delhi, Jan 10 (UNI) The Aam Aadmi Party (AAP) government on Wednesday launched a helpline through which art lovers by giving a missed call can connect to events of their choice.

Addressing a press conference, Deputy Chief Minister Manish Sisodia said, “The government has initiated a number of programmes to bring the finest art and culture to its people. Despite the vibrant cultural calendar, many art enthusiasts remain unaware of the programmes. We want to ensure no person interested in the arts is left out.”

“To meet the communication gaps, the Delhi government has come up with the missed call facility. The helpline number is 9323300300. Through this unique initiative, interested Delhiites can simply give a missed call on the given number to receive regular updates on the exciting programmes,” he stated.

Mr Sisodia added that this year, the Art Culture and Language department would expand its scope for fellowships by introducing programmes like Community Art, Art Research, Folk Art and special grants for the disabled working in arts. Similarly, a number of scholarships which are granted by language academies that will now become more accessible through this service.

He said art and culture are an important part of Delhi Government’s overall development strategy.
