She will continue to produce Aaron Sorkin’s ‘Lucy and Desi’ biopic, which she sold to Amazon Studios in August.
Miramax production executive Jenna Block has joined Verve as a motion picture literary agent, The Hollywood Reporter has exclusively learned.
Block was at Miramax for a year and before that spent nearly a decade at Sony-based Escape Artists, where she worked her way up from assistant to vp. Since her time at Escape she has been overseeing Aaron Sorkin’s Lucille Ball biopic Lucy and Desi, which she sold to Amazon Studios in August. Despite now being Verve’s 20th agent, she will continue to serve alongside Escape as a producer on the project, which stars Cate Blanchett.
“Jenna’s addition to our team is emblematic of our approach to constantly asking how best to service our clients,” Verve’s partners said in a joint statement. “Who better than someone who has spent a decade focused on the evolution of story and character?”
Block got her start in entertainment working as a producer’s assistant and line producer on Broadway’s Tony-nominated musical Dirty Rotten Scoundrels, starring John Lithgow and Norbert Leo Butz.
