TTDP leaders allege house arrest, prevented from staging dharna


Hyderabad, Jan.12 (NSS): Telangana TDP leaders were virtually under house arrest as there was large deployment of security personnel around them.

The TTDP had planned to organise a dharna today near CM’s camp office in protest against arrest of party farmer cell State president Onteru Pratap Reddy. As a precautionary measures, police arrested TDP State party president L Ramana and deployed forces near the residences of politburo members Motkupally Narasimhulu, Ravula Chandrasekhar Reddy, Revuri Prakash Reddy, E Peddireddy and M N Srinivas.

Telangana Telugu Youth president Tulla Virender Goud has alleged that the police men arrested party leaders at their houses for planning express their protest in a peaceful manner. The party has given a call to lay a siege to Pragati Bhavan, camp office of the CM, protesting arrest of party leader Onteru Pratap Reddy. Goud said when he was about to leave his residence with his followers to TDP office, police arrived there and informed them that they have no police permission and prevented them to proceed further.

Goud and his supporters raised anti-CM slogans and squatted in front of their houses and protested against police action. Later, the police arrested Goud after a verbal argument and shifted him to Banjara Hills police station. Goud alleged the police action reminded the Nizam rule and Telangana people should open their eyes for teaching a fitting reply to the TRS government.(NSS)
