Ola supports Karnataka govt’s ‘Less Traffic Day’ programme

In its mission to reduce traffic congestion in the city, Ola, has pledged its support the initiative. The monthly event which was launched today by transport minister H M Revanna today.

Ola has also rolled out a special discount coupon, to encourage more people to leave behind their personal vehicles and opt for publictransport. Ola is also ensuring better availability of cabs across the city to enable hassle-free commute for every citizen and
encourage public transport, a company release said here on Sunday.

”We welcome the government’s initiative to reduce trafficcongestion with this programme. Ola is committed to building better and sustainable transport for the city of Bangalore and this initiative will go a long way in encouraging people to take public transport and for cleaner and greener city,” Vishnu Bommareddy, General Manager – Ola, Bengaluru said.

Speaking on the occasion, B Dayananda, Commissioner for Transport and Road Safety said traffic congestion was a very real problem which will worsen if we do not do something about it in this city which has maximum number of personally owned vehicles per person. By creating awareness amongst Bengalureans to take public transport or
an Ola, we are sure that we can systematically reduce congestion on our roads, he said.

The ‘Less Traffic Day’ campaign will continue to run on every 2nd Sunday of the month, he said.
