PM Modi holds bilateral parleys with Presidents of B’desh, Lanka


New Delhi, Mar 11 (UNI) Prime Minister Narendra Modi on Sunday held a series of bilateral meetings with President of Bangladesh Abdul Hamid and Sri Lankan President Maithripala Sirisena among others on the sidelines of the International Solar Alliance here.

“Cementing our bonds with a close friend and a neighbour! PM @narendramodi met President of Bangladesh, Md Abdul Hamid on the sidelines of the #ISA. Leaders discussed connectivity, developmental cooperation, among other issues,” MEA spokesman Raveesh Kumar tweeted.

In another missive in the micro blogging site, Mr Kumar wrote: “Neighbourhood first! PM @narendramodi met Sri Lankan President, Maithripala Sirisena, on his 5th visit to India as President, on the sidelines of the #ISA.

Leaders exchanged views on developmental cooperation, among other areas of bilateral cooperation”.

Earlier in the first bilateral meeting, Mr Modi met with Chairman of Abu Dhabi Crown Prince Court, Sheikh Hamed Bin Zayed Bin Al Nahyan.

Both the discussed trade and investment, energy, food security, among other issues of bilateral interest, MEA spokesman said.
