Hyderabad, March.14 (NSS): Chief Minister K Chandrasekhar Rao today vehemently criticized that the first Prime Minister Jawaharlal Nehru dumped Telangana by merging it into Andhra Pradesh.

KCR lashed out at the Congress party terming it ‘villain number one of Telangana’ and destroyed it for six decades in all sectors. He accused the Congress of enjoying the posts at the cost of statehood and dumped the region of all its rightful share and destroyed Telangana from 1956 to 2014, when the state was achieved. In the meanwhile, the successive governments offered sops to the leaders who vouched for separate state by giving them ministerial posts, he said. The Congress government at the Centre pacified with a post to Marri Channa Reddy against spearheading the statehood movement, and recently G Chinna Reddy set aside his Telangana PCC for the statehood by getting a minister post, and DK Aruna performed puja while releasing waters to Seemandhra from Pothireddypadu causing loss to Telangana region. He cited examples of how leaders like Bejawada Gopal Reddy, Burgula Ramakrishna Rao and others had to abide by the Delhi high command against the statehood. Nagarjuna Sagar was constructed at Nandikonda only to dupe the people of Nalgonda. ‘We have lost Pochampadu and the upper Krishna project had gone to Karnataka as Almatti’. Same was the case with YSR, Kiran Kumar Reddy, K Jana Reddy and others who suppressed the statehood movement, an angry KCR said.

The Congress leadership gunned down about 400 persons who fought for statehood which was actually began in 1969 and not 2001. Some other congress leaders also came in the way of statehood including S Jaipal Reddy. Ministers did not quit their posts for the same as Danam Nagender and others did not support the cause of the statehood. Taking pot shots at the congress bus yatra for failing to get public support, he said that some of the ministers did not dare to question then Chief Minister N Kirankumar Reddy who announced in the Assembly that he will not give a single rupee to Telangana. They also supported that government giving waters to Seemandhra region and drying up the lands in Telangana, he said. The Congress is indulging in baseless charges and the people will support the government favouring their welfare, KCR said. Now the TRS Government is completing the projects and turning green the parched lands of Palamur and other districts, he said.(NSS)
