
Sudhir alias Sudhakar of Warangal carrying a bounty of Rs 25 killed in encounter on Tuesday
Kothagudem: As many as 100 hardcore Maoists were killed in encounters in Bastar region in Chhattisgarh in the last 83 days in the year 2025, informed Bastar range Inspector General of Police Sundarraj P.
Personnel of security wings like DRG, STF, Bastar Fighters, CoBRA, CRPF, BSF, ITBP and deployed in Bastar range were working for maintaining law and order and for the development of the Bastar region with strong morale and clear goals, he said.
The CPI (Maoist) Dandakarnya Special Zonal Committee Member (DKSZCM) Sudhir alias Sudhakar alias Murali of Warangal district in Telangana was among three Maoists killed in an encounter on Tuesday on the borders of Dantewada and Bijapur districts. He was carrying a cash reward of Rs 25 lakh, the IGP said.
Following information about the presence of Naxal cadres in the border areas of village Girsapara, Nelgoda, Bodga and Ikeli under Geedam police station limits, a team of Dantewada DRG and Bastar Fighters had gone on an anti-Maoist operation.
Two other Maoists killed in the encounters were identified as DKSZDCM security team members Mannu Barsa and Pandu Utara. An INSAS rifle, 303 rifle, 12 bore rifle and other explosive materials and items of daily use were recovered from the encounter site, Sundarraj said.
