‘Will take a decision keeping Uddhav Thackeray’s respect’: Maharashtra Dy CM Devendra Fadnavis on metro car shed issue
Maharashtra Deputy Chief Minister Devendra Fadnavis on Friday said they will take a decision on the Mumbai Metro Line-3 car shed “keeping Uddhav Thackeray’s respect and best interest of Mumbaikars in mind”.
“We will take an appropriate decision. Will take a decision keeping Uddhav Thackeray’s respect and best interest of Mumbaikars in mind,” said Fadnavis.
This came after former Maharashtra Chief Minister Uddhav Thackeray made a fervent appeal to the Ekanth Shinde-led government to not go ahead with the Metro-3 car shed project at Aarey Colony.

“Attack me, but don’t attack Mumbai. Don’t project anger for me on Mumbaikars. Don’t change the proposal for the metro shed and Aarey rule. Don’t toy with the environment of Mumbai,” Thackeray said.
Earlier on Thursday, in their first cabinet meeting after the swearing-in ceremony, Shinde and his deputy Fadnavis directed the state administration to submit a proposal to build the Metro-3 car shed in Aarey Colony instead of Kanjurmarg. The Thackeray-led government had shifted the proposed car shed site to Kanjurmarg from Aarey Colony, but it got embroiled in a legal dispute.
