Earthquake of magnitude 3.4 jolts Jammu and Kashmir’s Katra

 A medium-intensity earthquake jolted Jammu and Kashmir’s Katra on Friday morning. The quake of magnitude 3.4 on the Richter Scale occurred 62 km ENE of Katra at around 3:28 am. According to the National Centre for Seismology (NCS), the depth of the earthquake was 5 km below the ground.

There are no reports of any casualties or collateral damage due to the quake. Panic gripped the area after tremors. In the past two days, several earthquakes hit Katra. Two medium-intensity quakes struck Katra on Wednesday.

A quake of magnitude 4.1 hit the town at around 11:04 pm on Wednesday night. Minutes later, another earthquake jolted Katra. No loss of lives or property was reported. On Tuesday also two earthquakes struck Katra.

Meanwhile, an earthquake of 4.3 magnitude struck Kabul on Friday morning at around 2:55 am. As per the NCS, the depth of the earthquake was 80 km below the ground.
