Wouldn’t have given up CM post: Uddhav Thackeray hits back at Amit Shah over betrayal jibe
A day after Union Home Minister Amit Shah came down heavily on Uddhav Thackeray, the Shiv Sena leader hit back and said that if he wanted the post of chief minister, he would not have given it up in a moment.
While addressing his party workers at Matoshri, Thackeray said, “Yesterday in Mumbai we saw both ‘Mangalmurthy and Amangalmurthy’. Now politics can also be seen at Ganpati’s pandal. One should not speak indecent things where Ganpati is present, but he (Amit Shah) said it.”
“They said they wanted to show us the ground. Let them show us the ground, then we will talk about it. Loyalty cannot be sold, no matter how much you bid for it. I believe the field can be won by a handful of loyalists rather than masses of traitors,” he added.
“If I wanted the post of the chief minister, I would not have given it up in a moment. If it had been, I would have kept this post even when I had 30-40 MLAs. I know Mamata Banerjee. I would have taken MLAs to Kolkata. I could also have taken them to Rajasthan. But that’s not my nature,” Thackeray said during his address.
“I told everyone that the door is open, stay only if you are loyal or else you can go there. Now, I have only loyal Shiv Sainiks left with me,” he noted.
