Jackie Shroff goes ‘dono jaan hai meri’ as he recalls working with Shah Rukh Khan, Anil Kapoor
Bollywood’s beloved Bhidu Jackie Shroff has been winning the hearts of audiences and his co-stars for decades now. Recently, actor Anil Kapoor revealed how Jackie was a sweetheart to him and admitted to feeling jealous of his success. On Koffee With Karan Season 7, he shared that Shroff would pass the autograph books to Anil so even he could sign a few.
In a recent interview, Jackie recalled working with his ‘senior’ Anil. The duo starred in projects like Ram Lakhan, Andar Baahar, Karma Parinda and more. The actor, who proudly calls himself a secure artist, also spoke about working with ‘junior’ Shah Rukh Khan in King Uncle.
“I’m lucky, these have been my friends. Anil is my senior, Shah Rukh is my junior, but for me senior-junior never mattered, they were all my friends, my colleagues. And it was so embarrassing to sign ahead of anybody, because Anil Kapoor is my senior, he may say anything… that people didn’t come to him, but he is my senior, so he has to sign first and then I will sign,” he told ETimes.
Anil Kapoor confessed to being insecure of Jackie Shroff ‘huge success’: ‘The day I signed a Yash Chopra film, I felt like now I am fine…’
Jackie continued: “He’s my darling. Dono jaan hai mere, mile na mile, jab milenge toh aisa milenge ki kuch hua hi nahi (They’re both my friends for life. Whether we meet or not, when he catch-up it’s like we met just yesterday).”
He said that even though they don’t meet or call each other often, they still remain close buddies.
Interestingly, Anil and Jackie recently had a reunion of sorts. The senior actors attended actor Chunky Panday’s birthday bash on Saturday night.
