Hrithik Roshan Expresses His Gratitude For Vikram-Vedha, Says He’s ‘At Peace’ With His Failings

Box-office’s recent release Vikram-Vedha has been an ongoing buzz for quite some time. Although all trends, reviews and conversations couldn’t make it for a good box-office number. The film featured Saif Ali Khan as Vikram, a cop, chasing down a dreaded gangster Vedha, played by Hrithik Roshan. Now Hrithik has tweeted regarding what follows up in his life post film’s release.

Hrithik’s ritual of tying a thread

Hrithik has revealed that he ties a thread around his wrist as it is a symbol of the commitment he makes to himself before he begins shooting for a film. Hrithik who later cuts off the thread post-release mentioned that the ritual has always been confusing and he tried doing so after Vikram Vedha, but couldn’t.

“When I finally did, the question I did ask myself had a satisfactory answer, ‘Did I give this everything I had?’ ‘Can I do more?’ It’s a question that scares me, drives me and keeps me searching for more”, he said in a tweet.

Here’s what Hrithik has to say about the film’s failure

Talking about the film and his character, Hrithik in a heartfelt tweet wrote, “Vedha has been a terrific journey. Thru him I learnt to be. At peace with my failings. Unafraid and unapologetic. I will always be grateful to my directors and writers @PushkarGayatri for creating this opportunity. Thank you Vedha. I let go With love and gratitude.”

On another lengthier note, he explained, “I don’t know exactly when I started doing this (tying the thread). Or even why. I realised I’ve done this for every character that secretly terrified me. Mostly it’s a red mauli (Kabir wore that), or a black thread. Can’t even remember when I started doing this. Was it Kaho Na Pyaar Hai? Or Koi Mil Gaya, much later? Will have to go back and check my wrists or neck in those films.” “Thank you, Vedha. I let go. With love and gratitude”, he concluded.

Thank you Vedha.

Despite great word of mouth, Vikram Vedha managed to get only Rs 38-39 crore on its first weekend. It is expected that the film may pull up during the Dussehra vacations. Another reason speculated for the film’s failing start is the screen share of Vikram-Vedha with Mani Ratnam’s Ponniyin Selvan. It is known to people and box-office numbers, both, that the Aishwarya Rai starrer is doing wonders in theatres. It would be interesting to see what follows up in the producer’s kitty.
