BJP, TRS not political parties, but businesses: Rahul Gandhi in Telangana
The BJP and the TRS are not political parties but are businesses, Rahul Gandhi said at a public meeting in Telangana’s Narayanpet today. “Their job is to loot public money and do nothing,” he added. Congress’s Bharat Jodo Yatra is currently in its fifth state – Telangana, after passing through Tamil Nadu, Kerala, Karnataka and Andhra Pradesh.
The party’s massive outreach programme to re-establish its political presence in the country is on its 50th day today. Under the leadership of Rahul Gandhi, the journey began from Kanyakumari on September 7 and will end in Kashmir after traversing over 3,500 km.
“I want to say clearly here that for us the TRS and the BJP are the same. They are the two sides of the same coin and they work together. This is something you need to understand. They help each other. The TRS helps them in Delhi and the BJP helps them in Telangana. Both are against democracy. They do politics of money, buy MLAs, and topple governments,” Gandhi said.
“There is a government of Narendra Modi ji in Delhi and here, in Telangana, there is a government of KCR. Whatever Bills Narendra Modi wanted to pass in the Lok Sabha, the TRS gave him full support. The TRS supported the three laws against the farmers and when we brought a resolution against the law in the assembly, the TRS did not support us.
“Perhaps the most corrupt government in the country is in Telangana today,” Gandhi emphasized.
“Wherever they can steal, they steal. The Miyapur land scam is worth Rs 15,000 crore. Corruption was done in the Kaleshwaram project and till now that project is not over. In Telangana, I am talking to the farmers and they are all saying that what the BJP does at the center, the TRS does it here,” the Congress scion claimed.
“The country is given employment by small traders, people running small and medium businesses. Demonetisation and GST have shut down lakhs of small traders, and small and medium businesses. Today, the condition is that employment cannot be given. This is the reality of India and Telangana. There is unemployment on one side and inflation on the other. Petrol prices and diesel prices are rising. A gas cylinder used to cost Rs 400 and Modi ji would complain. Today, it costs Rs 1,000. But Modi ji does not say a word,” the Congress MP said.
