India vs England: Fans furious with Rohit Sharma’s approach after India skipper scores 27 off 28 balls
India captain Rohit Sharma played out stuttering innings against England in the semi-final of the T20 World Cup on Thursday, November 10. The Indian captain failed to give a positive approach in another poor outing for the Indian openers, where the captain and the vice-captain of the Indian side failed in a crucial game.
While KL Rahul was dismissed for five runs off five balls, Rohit Sharma took 28 balls to reach 27 before getting out to pacer Chris Jordan in the 9th over of the match. The Indian fans were not happy with what they saw from the captain on Thursday in Adelaide and let their feelings known in social media.
While India batters struggled on the Adelaide pitch on Thursday, former India captain Virat Kohli continued his terrific World Cup campaign hitting yet another half-century in the T20 World Cup. The batter also became the first ever player to complete 4000 T20I runs in the history of the format,
England bowlers did well in the middle overs, restricting the flow of runs against the right hand-dominated batting line-up of the Indian side. Spinners Liam Livingstone and Adil Rashid did well to counter the likes of Suryakumar Yadav and Virat Kohli. While they were successful to get Yadav out, Kohli and Hardik Pandya stood tall and accelerated in the final few overs to get India to a respectable score.
