Congress blasts Bilawal Bhutto over his vile comment against PM Modi, says ‘he’s our Prime Minister despite differences’
Amid outrage over Pakistan Foreign Minister Bilawal Bhutto’s vile remark against Prime Minister Narendra Modi, Congress on Saturday slammed the Pakistani politician and sought a befitting reply from the Centre.
Senior Congress leader and Chhattisgarh chief minister Bhupesh Baghel stressed that nobody has the right to make such statement about our PM.
While speaking to media, he said, “I condemn the statement made by Bilawal Bhutto (Pakistan’s Foreign Minister), a befitting reply must be given. No one has the right to make such a statement about our PM.”
“We have different political ideologies but this is about Nation and Modi is our PM,” added Baghel.
Bhutto had made controversial comments about PM Modi following India’s External Affairs Minister S Jaishankar’s sharp attack on Pakistan over its support for terrorism at the United Nations Security Council meeting.
Earlier today, Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) activists staged demonstrations in different parts of Gujarat against Bilawal Bhutto for his remarks.
The protests were held in Rajkot, Vadodara, Gandhinagar, Botad, Mahisagar, Junagadh and many other places. BJP activists raised slogans against Bhutto and also burnt his effigies in some places.
Gujarat BJP president CR Paatil dubbed Pakistan a ‘beggar’ and said Bhutto’s remarks on PM Modi have attracted criticism from the entire world. He said the people of India will never tolerate such comments against the PM.
