‘Lord Ram, Hanuman not BJP workers’: Miffed Uma Bharti hits out at saffron party

The BJP leader and Madhya Pradesh’s former Chief Minister Uma Bharti hit out at her party for monopolising Lord Ram and Hanuman. Unleashing a sharp criticism, Uma Bharti said the BJP should not harbour a misconception that others cannot be devotees of Lord Ram or Hanuman.

“Deities are not bound to any caste or religion. Lord Ram and Lord Hanuman are not party workers of the BJP; the deities existed even before the existence of the Jana Sangh or before the rule of Mughals and Britishers,” quipped Uma Bharti.

On Congress’s Bharat Jodo Yatra, the BJP leader said, “I want to ask Rahul, where does he see India in fragments? In fact, the abrogation of Article 370 strengthened India.”

“India was fragmented only once when Congress led the partition of the country. If Congress really wants to unite India, it should talk about uniting territories that were part of India before partitioned.”

Uma Bharti also came in support of the recent remark made by the BJP MP Pragya Singh Thakur, where she had urged the Hindu community to keep weapons in their homes.

“To keep a weapon is not wrong; however, one should not keep an aggressive mindset,” said Uma Bharti in support of MP Sadhvi Pargya Thakur.

On the release of Pathaan, the BJP leader said that the Censor Board should remove the objectionable content in the movie and there was no need to politicise the matter, further adding, insult to saffron will not be tolerated.
