FBI Director subpoenaed over targeting school board meeting parents

Republicans have issued a subpoena to FBI Director Christopher Wray asking him to testify on the federal government targeting concerned parents in school board meetings during the pandemic.

With the weight of a subpoena, the House Judiciary Committee ordered Wray to appear before the panel and turn over documents and communications related to the FBI’s ‘misuse of federal criminal and counterterrorism resources.’

Committee Chair Rep. Jim Jordan also wants all documents related to meetings he held in relation to Attorney General Merrick Garland‘s memo directing the FBI and U.S. attorneys to  identify protesting parents for prosecution, according to a copy of the document reviewed by DailyMail.com.

During the pandemic, school board meetings became heated across the country during debates on culture issues and whether children should be back in the classroom.

The October 4, 2021 memo directed the FBI to investigate the ‘disturbing spike in harassment, intimidation, and threats of violence’ against school administrators who parents clashed with at meetings.

Jordan and his committee colleagues have been investigating whistleblower allegations that the White House colluded with the National School Boards Association to create a pretext to use federal law enforcement against parents.

The whistleblowers claim the FBI’s Counterterrorism Division was tasked with investigating and tagging parents as ‘threats.’

The subpoena also calls for all documents and communications relating to the ‘EDUOFFICIALS’ threat tag.

The subpoena also demands documents related to the Justice Department’s task force that targeted school board threats and the FBI’s role as a member of that task force.

In one investigation the FBI interviewed a mom who reportedly told a school board member, ‘we are coming for you.’ The mom was reportedly part of the right-wing group ‘Moms for Liberty.’ The FBI later determined she was not a threat.

In another instance, Jordan said FBI officials had interviewed a father who was protesting against Covid masks.

Jordan also subpoenaed Attorney General Merrick Garland and Education Department  Sec. Miguel Cardona.

The Garland subpoena, seen by DailyMail.com, required Garland to turn over any communications related to his school board directive and any communications between the Justice Department, the White House and the National School Boards’ Association on parental threats.
