Centre’s zero-tolerance policy towards terrorism will continue in times to come: Shah

Hyderabad: Union Home Minister Amit Shah on Sunday asserted that PM Narendra Modi government’s policy of zero-tolerance towards terrorism and Left-wing extremis will continue in the times to come.
Speaking at the CISF’s Raising Day event held at National Industrial Security Academy (NISA) in Hyderabad, Shah said in the past nine years, the Centre has strongly dealt with terrorism as a result which many persons have laid down arms and joining the mainstream.
Speaking about the role of CISF in nation building in the past 53 years, Shah said CISF has been undoubtedly playing a key role in the nation’s financial growth by securing the airports, seaports, vital installations and industries. Lauding CISF’s contribution in preventing supply of fake currency, narcotics and also infiltration, he encouraged them to be prepared to face the new challenges with the same spirit and thwart all such attempts, which might derail the economy.
Reminding Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s aim to make India a USD 5 Trillion economy, Shah said that he hopes CISF will continue to play a key role in achieving the goal by ensuring safety and security of the nation’s vital installations.
Paying tributes to the CISF personnel who have fallen in the line of duty, Shah said CISF personnel as first responders during the covid pandemic extended their services at all police stations facilitating arrival of international passengers. “With their humane approach they have served the nation while putting themselves at risk. In this effort, some of them have even sacrificed their lives,” he added.
Earlier accompanied by CISF DG Sheel Vardhan Singh, Amit Shah inspected the parade and presented medals to the medal winners.
For the first time, the CISF is holding its annual Raising Day celebrations out of Delhi national capital region (NCR) at the CISF National Industrial Security Academy (NISA) at Hakimpet here.
Last year, Shah attended the 53rd Raising Day ceremony of the Central Industrial Security Force (CISF) at Ghaziabad’s Indirapuram.
For the last couple of years, all paramilitary forces are celebrating their Raising day outside Delhi.
On March 19, CRPF will hold an annual Raising Day in Chhattisgarh’s Bastar district which used to be once dominated by Left Wing Extremism (LWE).
