‘Will declare you a terrorist in a second’
In one such incident, a Bihar police official has come under fire after a video showing him intimidating a man was widely circulated on social media.
In the viral clip, the policeman can be seen threatening the man, “Will declare you a terrorist in a second.”
The said incident reportedly occurred in the state’s Jamui district some two to three days ago.
The teacher and his family members arrived at the Jamui Police station, some 165 kilometres from capital Patna, to resolve a conflict.
Teacher reportedly arrived late
The cop, Rajesh Sharan, say reports, was bothered with the teacher coming three days late and started calling him names.
The teacher did try to reason with the officer, but by then, the policeman had been enraged.
“Don’t speak much…It is our job to declare people terrorists. Will declare you a terrorist in a second,” said the policeman before getting up and threatening the teacher.
People could be spotted around the policeman in the video, but no one intervened.
The Jamui police station has ordered an inquiry into the matter.
