HYDERABAD: The Bharat Rashtra Samithi (BRS) headed by Chief Minister K. Chandrashekar Rao has decided to boycott the inauguration of the new Parliament House building in New Delhi on Sunday, it was learnt.
The decision is seen as a further sign of the growing rift between the party and the BJP-led government at the Centre. It is the latest in a series of Opposition parties to boycott the event. The Congress, Trinamool Congress, and the Nationalist Congress Party have all announced that they will not attend the inauguration.
The BRS was also not part of a 19-party statement earlier this week announcing a boycott of the event and calling for President Droupadi Murmu to inaugurate the new Parliament House.
