Warangal: In a joint operation Telangana Anti Narcotics Control Bureau Warangal unit team and Hasanparthy police on Friday arrested a person and seized 338 kg of ganja worth around Rs. 85 lakh hidden inside a tractor-trolley.
Addressing a press conference here, Warangal Commissioner of Police Amber Kishor Jha informed that the police team on a specific information that ganja packets were being transported in a tractor from Dharakonda area of Visakhapatnam district in Andhra Pradesh to Bikanur mandal of the Kamareddy district via Bhadrachalam, Mulugu, Hanumakonda and Siddipet, set up a check post at Anantarasagar Cross Road in Hasanparthy mandal.
During the checking, the police came across a person K Lakshmi Narayana (24) of Patakota village of Y Ramavaram mandal in Alluri Sitharama Raju district of Andhra Pradesh, who was hiding 338 kg of ganja packed in 96 packets in the bottom of the tractor trolley, he said, adding that on questioning he admitted that he was transporting the ganja to Kamareddy district on the direction of K Narayana of his district.
He has been detained and was being interrogated.
