KTR pays tributes to Sitaram Yechury at memorial meeting in Hyderabad

“Yechury was truly a son of Hyderabad,” Rama Rao noted. “He studied at All Saints School and attended the nearby Grammar School. Like me, he graduated from Nizam College in the following years. Yechury was a voice for the poor, a leader of remarkable grace.”

Hyderabad: In a heartfelt address at the memorial meeting for CPI (M) leader Sitaram Yechury, BRS working president KT Rama Rao on Saturday emphasized the deep kinship they shared as “sons of people’s struggles”.

Rama Rao highlighted Yechury’s unwavering commitment to his ideology, noting that he remained a staunch Communist until his last breath.

“Yechury was also a true son of Hyderabad,” Rama Rao remarked. “He studied at All Saints school and was a student of the nearby Grammar School. He graduated from Nizam College, just as I did in subsequent years. Yechury was a voice that questioned for the sake of the poor, a leader with great grace.”

Rama Rao quoted Yechury, saying, “When democracy is threatened, even silence is considered complicity.” He added, “If I ever feel lost in the battle, I look to CPI (M) leader Sitaram Yechury for inspiration.”

The memorial meeting was a poignant reminder of Yechury’s enduring legacy and his relentless fight for the underprivileged.

Former Chief Secretary Mohan Kanda, CPI(M) politburo member B V Raghavulu and CPI(M) State secretary Tammineni Veerabhadram were among those who spoke on the occasion.
