Hyderabad: Hyderabad’s art and sustainability enthusiasts have something to look forward to this month as Crafts Council Telangana in Banjara Hills gears up to host a series of hands-on workshops, blending creativity with eco-friendly practices.

From September 26th to 28th, CHURN: 2024, a three-day event showcasing interactive workshops and a marketplace of ethical, eco-friendly products, will unite local artisans with eco-conscious shoppers. This free-entry event offers a unique opportunity for Hyderabad’s residents to explore a wide array of sustainable, homegrown brands.

In addition, two exciting workshops will be held on September 28th, bringing together like-minded individuals interested in indigenous crafts and sustainable living.

Led by Kerala Mural Artist Shibina Manoj, Terracotta and Bamboo Pendant Workshop will guide participants in creating stunning jewelry using terracotta and bamboo, two highly sustainable materials. Scheduled from 10 am to 12:30 pm, this hands-on class is open to individuals aged 10 and above. Participants will not only leave with a unique handmade piece but also a newfound appreciation for eco-conscious crafting. The fee for this session is Rs. 800, inclusive of materials.

For those looking to explore other natural materials, the Coconut Shell Craft workshop offers a fascinating dive into sustainable craftsmanship. Participants will learn to create beautiful objects using coconut shells, fostering creativity and mindfulness about resource usage. Like the pendant workshop, this session will also take place on September 28th at CCT Spaces. It’s open to all and encourages everyone to experiment with the versatility of coconut shells.
