Govt turning blind eye to the plight of poor, says KTR on HYDRAA demolitions

Singles out CM’s brother for receiving preferential treatment and being served with 30-day notice, enabling latter to approach court and get stay orders

Hyderabad: BRS working president KT Rama Rao launched a scathing attack on the Congress-led State government, charging it with turning a blind eye to the plight of the poor, amid ongoing demolitions by HYDRAA.

He singled out Chief Minister A Revanth Reddy‘s brother, A Tirupathi Reddy, for receiving preferential treatment and being served with 30-day notice, enabling the latter to approach the court and get stay orders.

Sharing on X the plight of the poor who lost their homes, Rama Rao pointed out several instances where ordinary citizens were severely affected by the government’s actions.

“Vedashree, an LKG student, wasn’t even given time to collect her books before her house was demolished. A 50-year-old woman, Kasturi Bai, lost her only source of livelihood – a small shoe shop – due to these heartless demolitions. Houses bought just 72 hours prior were leveled without consideration, despite having all legal documentation,” he stated.

Rama Rao questioned why Tirupathi Reddy remained untouched during the wave of demolitions, while those of ordinary citizens were being crushed.

“Tirupathi Reddy garu, you seem to have some kind of superpower or secret weapon. Only you seem to have been unscathed in this madness. Tell us how normal people in Telangana can use this special power. We all thought constitution is the only superpower in any democracy,” he remarked sarcastically.

The BRS working president questioned the preferential treatment of Tirupathi Reddy by HYDRAA which is denying time for common people to even collect their valuables, but served notices to Tirupathi Reddy, despite violations under WALTA (Telangana Water, Land and Trees Act).

“Tell us how the ordinary people of Telangana who are being crushed under the bulldozers sent by your brother, can access this ‘special power’ of yours,” he said.
