Despite CM’s warnings, illegal sand transportation, quarrying persist in Telangana
A significant amount of sand was allocated to the Hyderabad Metropolitan Water Supply and Sewerage Board by the Telangana Mineral Development Corporation Limited (TGMDC). However, BRS leader Manne Krishank alleged that these allocations were made using fake documents.
Hyderabad: Illegal transportation of sand and unauthorized sand quarrying continues unabated in the State. Taking irregularities to the next level, now fake documents are being created for sale and illegal transportation of sand.
Huge quantity of sand was allotted to Hyderabad Metropolitan Water Supply and Sewerage Board by the Telangana Mineral Development Corporation Limited (TGMDC). However, these allocations were made based on fake documents, alleged BRS leader Manne Krishank.
“1,50,000 metric tonnes of fine sand worth Rs.150 crore was allotted to Water Works (HMWSSB) by TSMDC based on Fake Documents. When lorry drivers realised that the sand was not used for the Water Works department but diverted for illegal purposes they raised complaints with HMWSSB. Government revenue was looted. This crime happened from TSMDC,” he said on X.
“How did they approve without any official documents verification? RTI’s are not replied. An enquiry should happen on the Corporation. But who can conduct a Fair Investigation when Corruption has taken place in Chief Minister Revanth Reddy‘s own department,” he said.
