Rama Rao took to X to criticize Chief Minister Revanth Reddy for misleading farmers by promising a loan waiver of up to ₹2 lakh during elections but only partially implementing it, benefiting around 22 lakh farmers. “The Chief Minister falsely claimed to have fully completed the loan waiver, but the Agriculture Minister’s statements have revealed his failure to fulfill that promise,” Rao stated.
Hyderabad: BRS working president KT Rama Rao said the Congress government betrayed farmers by implementing crop loan waiver only partially. He said Agriculture Minister Tummala Nageswara Rao admitted that 20 lakh farmers are still awaiting for loan waiver, exposing Chief Minister A Revanth Reddy’s false claims.
Taking to X, Rama Rao criticised Chief Minister Revanth Reddy for deceiving farmers by promising loan waiver upto RS 2 lakh during elections and then implementing it only partially, benefiting around 22 lakh farmers. “The Chief Minister falsely claimed that he had completed 100 per cent loan waiver, but the Agriculture Minister’s statements exposed the former’s failure to deliver his promise,” he said.
The BRS working president pointed out that despite promises to execute the crop loan waiver by December 9 last year, 20 lakh farmers are still left without relief even after 10 months. “The claim of completing Rs 2 lakh loan waivers is nothing but a sham,” he remarked, citing official figures that show the government’s failure to meet its commitments to farmers. He suspected that more farmers were denied benefit under crop loan waiver unofficially.
He questioned the government’s treatment of those not officially included in the crop loan waiver scheme and condemned the delay in providing Rythu Bandhu investment support to farmers. “What good is this government of vultures to the farmers?” he asked, stating that Revanth Reddy’s inaction has become a curse to the farmers of the State.
