Hyderabad: The Hyderabad police caught three persons who were procuring and selling duplicate consumer goods in the city and seized duplicate products worth Rs. 2 lakh such as mosquito repellents, disinfected liquid and adhesives.
Acting on information, the Commissioner’s Task Force (central) team caught three people Ramesh Kumar Parmar, Hitesh Pawar and Ramesh Kumar. “After sourcing the duplicate consumer goods, the trio were selling it to retailers in the city.
On specific information, raids were conducted and the products were seized,” said DCP Task Force, YVS Sudheendra.
The police said that the suspects were running wholesale business at Begum Bazaar and got in touch with persons who supplied the duplicate goods to them. “They purchased the duplicate goods at a lower price and sold at regular price in the market thereby earning huge profits,” said the official.
The police appealed to the public to inform them if they come across any duplicate goods or have suspicion over any product sold at local retail or wholesale shops or supermarkets.
The suspects along with the material were handed over to the Begum Bazaar police station for further action. The raids were conducted by the team led by N Ramakrishna, Inspector, Task Force.
