National security should not be politicised, says CM Revanth at VLF station foundation ceremony

Considering the project’s significance, the Chief Minister appealed to the environmentalists and activists not to create any controversies

Vikarabad: Chief Minister A Revanth Reddy on Tuesday said when it comes to national security, there should not be any scope for politics and all the people should work together, irrespective of ideological differences.

Participating in the foundation laying ceremony of the Indian Navy’s Very Low Frequency (VLF) radar station here, the Chief Minister said with the establishment of VLF radar station, Telangana was going to play a crucial role in national security.

However, a few sections were trying to create controversy over the VLF station. Apprehensions were being created among people that it would cast an adverse impact, he said, adding that a similar station was set up in Tamil Nadu in 1990 and there were no complaints or any issues for the people.

Considering the project’s significance, the Chief Minister appealed to the environmentalists and activists not to create any controversies.

“If people are safe and national security is ensured, only then we can think about environment safety,” Revanth Reddy said, also alleging that it was the BRS government that accorded final approval for land for the project in 2017.

“After union Minister Rajnath Singh wanted the project to be taken up, our government decided to extend all support,” the Chief Minister said.

Meanwhile, the audience was perplexed when the Chief Minister said Hyderabad and Telangana were surrounded by the sea on three sides.
