BJP urges Governor to direct Telangana Govt to hand over issue of radicalisation of youths to NIA
On Monday, a delegation of BJP MPs, including M. Raghunandhan Rao, Eatala Rajender, and Konda Vishweshwar Reddy, submitted a request to the Governor at Raj Bhavan, urging him to direct the government to transfer the case to the NIA. They argued that, due to the interstate implications of the case, it would be appropriate for the DGP to hand it over to the NIA, which is tasked with investigating anti-national and religious terror issues.
Hyderabad: The BJP State unit has urged the Governor Jishnu Dev Varma to direct the State Government to hand over the issue of Mumbai-based speaker Munawar Zama holding a month-long session to radicalise youth on the pretext of personality development sessions, to the National Investigation Agency (NIA).
A delegation led by BJP MPs M Raghunandhan Rao, Eatala Rajender and Konda Vishweshwar Reddy on Monday submitted a representation to the Governor at Raj Bhavan and requested him to direct the government to hand over the case to NIA. Given the interstate ramifications of the current case it was apt to instruct the DGP to hand over the case to the NIA , which is meant to investigate the anti-national and religious terror issues, they said.
The BJP leaders appealed to the Governor to seek the report on illegal activities that had been going on for months in a hotel which harboured anti-nationals and vandals. They also urged the Governor to direct the police to trace all the people who took part in the training session.
The delegation also urged the governor to seek a detailed report of the desecration of the Muthyalamma temple and take action against the police personnel responsible for ordering lathi charge. The BJP leaders requested the Governor to direct the police to release all the people arrested during the protest against desecration of the Muthyalamma temple and withdraw cases filed against them.
