Hyderabad: Residents of different villages staged a protest in front of the Yadadri Collectorate, demanding the cancellation of the proposed Adani Ambuja Cement Factory in Ramannapet on Tuesday. Led by the BRS activists, they submitted a memorandum to the Collector, expressing their concerns about the environmental impact of the factory. They also voiced their concern over the different industrial projects that threaten their environment and livelihood.
Former MLA Chirumarthi Lingaiah, who participated in the protest, threatened to stall the project. “We will not allow Adani to set foot here. Chief Minister Revanth Reddy and Adani are looting Telangana together. The Ambuja Cement Factory will turn the entire Ramannapet mandal into a pollution zone,” he stated.
Lingaiah also mentioned that they would obstruct the public opinion gathering exercise scheduled for tomorrow. He criticized the Congress government for polluting the Musi ayacut under the guise of beautification.
