Hyderabad: The public hearing for the construction of the Adani cement factory at Ramannapet has been marked by police action. Former BRS MLAs, including Bhupal Reddy, Gadari Kishore Kumar, and Chirumarthi Lingaiah, have been placed under house arrest to prevent them from attending the public hearing.
Police forces have surrounded Bhupal Reddy’s residence in Nalgonda, and there have been attempts to arrest other former MLAs and representatives of various public organizations, political leaders, and environmental activists.
The government has deployed hundreds of police officers at the public hearing site, with additional officers in plain clothes monitoring the situation closely through CCTV cameras. The residents of Ramannapet are outraged, accusing the government of creating chaos under the guise of a public hearing.
