Sangareddy: In a record of sorts, five children of a couple in Raikode have bagged government jobs.
The couple Pulirgama Raghava Reddy and Shobamma have four daughters and a son. While three of the daughters have become teachers, one daughter and the only son have become panchayat secretaries. They have become the talk of the town with their achievements.
During the recent teachers recruitment examination, two of them got teacher posts. Raghava Reddy, who had retired as an assistant branch postmaster, also used to do agriculture in the village to support his children’s education. Luckily, they always used to perform well in their studies since childhood. While the eldest among them, Kavitha, got a teacher post in 2012, two more followed in her footsteps. Interestingly, Kavitha’s husband is also a government teacher.
The second daughter Kalpana and third daughter Veeramani bagged the teacher posts in the 2024 DSC. The youngest daughter Jyothirani and son Krishna Prathap Reddy cracked the panchayat secretary recruitment examination a few years ago.
Speaking to Telangana Today Raghava Reddy said he had always encouraged them to get into government service since it gave job security and they could also serve the people. He said his children made him proud with their performances. Prathap Reddy and Jyothirani were still preparing for various competitive examinations. The couple married off their four daughters and are now looking for a match for their only son. These five siblings became a source of inspiration for youngsters in Sangareddy district.
