Forest officials win laurels for quickly giving compensation to farmer in Mancherial

The forest officials claimed that the application was processed within 12 hours for the first time and granted the compensation to the farmer.

Mancherial: Forest officials won laurels for extending compensation to a farmer whose cows were killed by a tiger and leopard in the forests of Luxettipet forest range, here on Tuesday.

Mancherial Forest Division Officer (FDO) Sarveshwar and Luxettipet Forest Range Officer (FRO) Subhash said that compensation of Rs 33,000 was given to farmer Chatru from Gonduguda village for losing three cows killed by a tiger and leopard recently. The cows were attacked when they were grazing in the Medaram forest section. The farmer thanked the officials for quickly releasing the compensation.

The forest officials claimed that the application was processed within 12 hours for the first time and granted the compensation to the farmer. They assured that financial support would be given immediately if informed about the cattle killing by wild animals. They urged the public not to harm the tiger and leopard by setting snares and electrified fences.

The officials also requested the dwellers of the forest fringe villages not to venture deep inside the forests to graze farm animals and to avoid sudden confrontation with the tiger. They advised the shepherds to share information of tigers and leopards if sighted. They told the public to be cautious of the tiger.
