Khammam: Khammam based Yuva Seva Samithi has distributed blankets to as many as 200 beggars and street dwellers in Hyderabad on Tuesday.
The samithi volunteers have been distributing blankets to the migrant workers staying in Sathupalli, Kistaram, Bhadrachalam, Khammam, Aswaraopet and other areas for the last five days. As part of that samithi distributed blankets to the needy in the State capital on the day.
Home Institute director Giri joined the samithi volunteers in providing blankets to the poor in Hyderabad. The initiative was taken up in view of the severe cold conditions in Hyderabad, the samithi founder, Jonnagatla Raju informed.
The programme was carried out with the generous donations made by charitable donors and in the future many such programmes would be taken up, he said. He appealed to the youths who want to participate in community service contact the samithi or form a group in their towns or villages to help the poor.
