Hyderabad: A tense situation prevailed in front of the BJP State office at Nampally after Congress and BJP workers clashed with each other on the issue of BJP former MP Ramesh Bidhuri’s sexist remark against Congress MP Priyanka Gandhi on Tuesday.
Police had a tough time handling the situation with Congress and BJP workers refusing to leave the venue. It all started after Congress workers reached the BJP State office to stage a protest against the former BJP MP’s comment on Priyanka Gandhi. Soon a war of words broke out between the two party workers. The situation turned violent after Congress workers allegedly started throwing eggs and stones at the BJP office building.
However, the Congress workers alleged that the BJP workers attacked them and in retaliation they attacked them. The BJP workers too tried to attack the Congress workers with sticks. A BJP worker reportedly received head injuries in the stone pelting.
