Chief Minister orders officials to make necessary arrangements to pay salaries regularly to the staff in gram panchayats
Hyderabad: With the local body elections fast approaching, the Congress government has finally decided to pay salaries to all employees working in gram panchayats every month.
Chief Minister A Revanth Reddy ordered officials to make necessary arrangements to pay salaries regularly to the staff in gram panchayats. As many as 92,351 employees are working in gram panchayats in the State and Rs 116 crore is required to pay monthly salaries.
For this, Panchayat Raj and Finance Department officials will adopt a clear policy without delay in the payment of salaries to all employees. Their salaries will be paid through the green channel, the Chief Minister said at a meeting with officials here on Thursday.
The Chief Minister also ordered officials to clear all pending bills of the Mahatma Gandhi National Rural Employment Guarantee Scheme. They have also been asked to pay all bills related to about 1.26 lakh employment works since April last year.
