Hyderabad: The Telangana State Road Transport Corporation (TGSRTC) has taken a slew of measures to meet the heavy demand for transport facilities during Sankranti festival.
In addition to running 6,432 special buses for the festival, the RTC has made arrangements for passengers to have access to additional travel options between January 10 and 12, when the rush will be at its peak. Arrangements are also in place to ensure that the travellers have access to buses in the return journey from January 19 and 20.
The special buses will be operated from MGBS, JBS, Uppal, Aramgarh, LB Nagar, KPHB, Bowenpally, Gachibowli, etc. To ensure there are amenities, the RTC has established special tents, chairs, public address system, water facility and mobile toilets for the convenience of passengers.
The RTC management has revised ticket prices for special buses, which will be applicable only on the January 10, 11, 12, 19 and 20 while charges in regular buses will remain unchanged. The revised fares will be applicable only for special buses plying across Telangana and other States.
Free bus transport facility for women in Palle Velugu, Express, City Ordinary and Metro Express buses during Sankranti will continue as usual.
