Ensure Rythu Bharosa only to cultivable lands, CM Revanth Reddy to Collectors

Says gram panchayats, municipalities and revenue records should be verified and non-cultivable land details should be discussed in gram sabhas

HYDERABAD: Chief Minister A Revanth Reddy on Friday directed District Collectors to ensure that Rythu Bharosa was extended only to cultivable lands and to avoid layout, nala convert lands, mining, godowns and lands acquired by government for different purposes from the assistance.

Officials should identify non-cultivable lands and make a list of such lands in their limits. Gram panchayats, municipalities and revenue records should be verified and the non-cultivable land details should be discussed in the gram sabhas, he said during a meeting with Collectors here on Friday.

“Irrespective of farmers cultivating the lands, Rythu Bharosa should be extended to all cultivable lands,” Revanth Reddy stressed. The Chief Minister also said that farm labourers who do not own lands would be eligible for assistance only under Indiramma Athmeeya Bharosa.

He said 96 percent of caste census was completed and complimented the Collectors for successfully completing the exercise. However, he expressed displeasure over a few Collectors for not conducting field inspections in their districts and specifically directed the IAS and IPS officers to visit the social welfare hostels once in a month.

The Collectors were instructed to compile the details of eligible persons for Indiramma Indlu and the same should be presented to the respective incharge ministers for approval.

The Chief Minister wanted the Collectors to complete the scheme’s preparatory works between January 11 and 15. “I will conduct surprise inspections after January 26 and stern action will be initiated against erring officials,” he said.
