HYDERABAD: Pressure is mounting on the State unit of the Congress to take action against MLC Teenmaar Mallanna, with the Reddy Jagruthi Sangam on Tuesday staging a protest at Gandhi Bhavan against the MLC.
Mallanna has been vocal against the Congress government and recently dubbed the caste survey as a fake one. Besides burning Chief Minister A Revanth Reddy’s statement on the caste survey, he had also made a few objectionable comments against a community.
Accordingly, TPCC Disciplinary Committee on February 6 had served a show cause notice to the MLC for violating party norms and sought an explanation before February 12.
However, the Congress MLC has been firm on his stand and did not respond to the notice. This has not gone well with the Reddy Jagruthi Sangam members staging a protest at Gandhi Bhavan. They questioned the State leadership as to why action was not being taken against the MLC.
Raising ‘We want justice’ slogans and holding placards, the Sangam members also warned that if the State leadership failed to initiate action against Teenmaar Mallanna, they would teach the Congress a lesson.
