Confusion over financial assistance to be extended under Rajiv Yuva Vikasam

Deputy CM Mallu Bhatti Vikramarka, officials from Chief Minister’s Office and others make contrasting statements on the scheme

HYDERABAD: After the launch of the Rajiv Yuva Vikasam on Monday, confusion prevails among youth over financial assistance to be extended to each beneficiary under the scheme.

This was after variations in the assistance announced by Deputy Chief Minister Mallu Bhatti Vikramarka, officials from the Chief Minister’s Office and others.

The Deputy Chief Minister on X said the State government had launched the programme with an outlay of Rs.6,000 crore. Accordingly, each beneficiary from SC, ST, BC and Minorities categories would be extended Rs 3 lakh. The programme was being launched to ensure that five lakh unemployed youth get benefited this year. Applications would be received online from March 15 to April 5, he said.

In contrast, Jacob Ross, Assistant Director (I&PR) working in Chief Minister’s Office, said on X: “Chief Minister A Revanth Reddy launched Rajiv Yuva Vikasam scheme, aiming to provide financial assistance of Rs 4 lakh to each beneficiary, benefitting 5 lakh unemployed youth across the State…”

Sharing another contrasting post over the assistance in which Rs 5 lakh is to be extended to each beneficiary, Karan J, an X user, said: “The Telangana Congress government for you! CM, DCM, PRO everyone has their own say.”

The applications examination, identification of beneficiaries and their units would be done from April 6 to May 30. The assistance is to be extended in different categories and the subsidy component also varies. Depending on the category, the subsidy component varies from 60 per cent to 80 per cent.
