Hyderabad: Congress MLA Danam Nagender fumes at Ministers, officials for ignoring pleas

The Khairatabad legislator says his repeated requests on several issues about his constituency were being neglected
Hyderabad: Hinting at the fate of defected BRS MLAs in the Congress government, Khairatabad MLA Danam Nagender expressed dissatisfaction over the lack of response from the government on issues raised by him during the Zero Hour in the Assembly.
He also questioned the lack of response from officials to senior legislators like him.
During Zero Hour on Tuesday, Nagender voiced frustration over his repeated requests being ignored for a camp office near the Eidgah ground.
Comparing his situation to “apply, apply, but no reply,” he claimed to have personally destroyed the foundation stone of a substation laid by the officials in the location sought for his camp office, without prior intimation.
Listing several constituency issues, he alleged that officials respond quickly to social media but neglect MLAs’ concerns.
He also criticised Ministers for merely taking note of issues instead of giving clear replies, stating that such notes were often discarded.
“I am not blaming anyone, but I can see many Ministers throwing our requests in the dustbin,” he said, citing his own experience as a Minister.
When newly elected Congress MLAs asked him to sit down, Nagender lashed out, asserting that as a senior MLA and former Minister, he knew what to say and did not need advice.
