Hyderabad: GHMC collects over Rs. 2000 cr in property tax for first time in history

Hyderabad: As part of collection drive during the Financial Year 2024-25, the Greater Hyderabad Municipal Corporation (GHMC) has been able to collect property tax of more than Rs. 2012.36 crores (as on 6 pm) for the first time in the history of the Corporation.
After issuance of One Time Scheme by the government, an amount of Rs. 465.07 crores was collected from March 8 till March 31 (as on 6 pm), a press release said.
Meanwhile, the GHMC informed that under Early Bird Scheme, property tax payers can pay the tax in April and avail 5 per cent rebate given by the government. The property tax can be paid from April 1 onwards as the Early Bird Scheme is applicable for the property tax for the Financial Year 2025-26. It is not applicable on arrears accumulating from previous years.
