Principal Sai Latha is seen hitting one student, slapping another, besides using unparliamentary language
Hyderabad: A video purported to be of a State government-run educational institution principal hitting girl students in Vikarabad went viral on social media on Tuesday.
The incident was reported from Social Welfare Residential School and Junior College, Kothagadi where Principal Sai Latha allegedly beat students for venturing out of the college campus for purchasing sugar without informing teachers on Monday.
In the video, rolling a book, the principal is seen hitting one of the girl students who is already sobbing. She goes on to land three slaps on another student besides using unparliamentary language on students and their parents.
Posting the video on X, BRS leader and TGSWREIS former secretary RS Praveen Kumar demanded the government to initiate action against those responsible in the heinous incident.
“I am not saying that the children have done nothing wrong. I can understand the dangers lurking around girls’ boarding schools and the anxiety of caretakers. At this age, they should be sat down and given counselling but not hit like this. Sailatha, I never expected this from you, madam. You should have called professional counsellors or their parents and exhibited more maturity,” he said.
