Siddipet: Two Town police arrested four persons in dowry harassment and suicide case on Tuesday. The police arrested Chenna Pavan, husband of the victim Chenna Akanksha (25), Pavan’s parents Sataiah and Kanakavva and his younger brother Kalyan.
According to Siddipet ACP Madhu, Pavan had married Akanksha in 2019 against the wishes of their parents. However, their parents again performed their marriage in 2020 and gave Pavan Rs 5 lakh and four tolas of gold. The couple had two sons.
However, Pavan and his family members allegedly continued to harass Akanksha for additional dowry. Unable to bear the harassment, she died by suicide by consuming pesticide on May 10.
