Hyderabad: A youth was booked for allegedly trapping and harassing two minor girls, both siblings, in the name of love in Ghatkesar.
The incident came to light when one of the girls recently attempted to die by suicide.
As per available information, the suspect Avinash Reddy became friends with one of the girls on Instagram and proposed love to her and she accepted.
Eventually, Avinash allegedly started blackmailing the girl, saying he was interested in her sister as well. When the girl confronted him, he started threatening her by showing her private photos and videos.
Avinash Reddy said that he would delete the photos and videos if she brought her sister and the gold ornaments from the house.
Unable to take further harassment, the minor girl attempted to die by suicide in the house. She was, however, rescued by her family members and shifted to the hospital.
Based on the complaint from the father of the minor girls, the Ghatkesar police registered a case and are investigating.
