PG Medical Centre sanctioned for Telangana’s Husnabad; 250-bed hospital, road works launched

Health Minister Damodara Rajanarasimha announces PG Medical Centre with 50 seats for Husnabad while inaugurating a 100-bed hospital and laying foundation for a 150-bed facility. Ministers also launch key road project and reviewed oil palm factory works

Siddipet: Health Minister Damodara Rajanarasimha on Friday announced that the Telangana government would set up a Postgraduate (PG) Medical Centre with 50 seats in Husnabad.

Addressing a gathering after inaugurating a 100-bed Mother and Child Hospital and laying the foundation stone for a 150-bed general hospital in Husnabad, the Minister said with a combined 250-bed capacity, the town met the necessary infrastructure criteria to host a PG Medical Centre.

Pointing out that Siddipet, Jagtial, and Karimnagar already had medical colleges, Rajanarasimha said the government had decided to grant the PG Centre to Husnabad to ensure balanced development in the region.

The new centre would admit its first batch of 50 PG medical students from the next academic year.

The Minister also laid the foundation stone for the widening of the Kothapally-Husnabad road into a two-lane corridor, which will provide improved connectivity between Rajiv Rahadhari and Husnabad.

Minister Ponnam Prabhakar also spoke. The Ministers also visited the under-construction oil palm factory at Narmetta in Nanganur mandal to review the progress of the works.

District Collector Hymavathi, MLA Kavvampally Satyanarayana, and other officials accompanied them.
